The first stage will be the community whitelist for all Terra holders and giveaway winners. The following public stages will have a higher price point.

What happens to the unclaimed Puffins?
We will retain a certain number (TBC) for the project treasury for future giveaways to holders and marketing to other chains. We also reserve the right to burn any unclaimed Puffins at the end of the public mint.

We’ve had a wave of Terra Puffins come over to claim their new Puffins on Algorand. 2550 Puffins have been claimed by ~400 Wallets.

Step 2: Incentivize Terra Communities to try Algorand
With extra time until the new Puffin NFT launch on Algorand, we have decided to focus marketing efforts on bringing more of the Terra community over to Algorand. To that end, we are giving away WL spots to Terra NFT projects and users who come over and mint a Puffin during the open mint on Algorand (Date TBD — see below).
Step 3: Public Algorand Mint. The public mint for our new Algorand Poppin Puffins collection will take place at some date after the Terra migration mint. Date TBD.
Our Commitment to Algorand
We will keep all mint proceeds in Algorand and only convert Algorand into fiat when necessary for IRL expenses.
For any future revenue generated in fiat (mobile game, branded events, products), we will also dedicate a significant portion to investing in Algorand.
We will invest a portion of our Algorand balance into NFTs and ASAs to provide liquidity and support to the projects we align and collaborate with.
We will work with leaders in the space to develop a roadmap that takes advantage of all the opportunities Algorand provides, to build an ecosystem that can attract even more projects to launch on Algorand vs. other chains.
Commitment to Community (DAO)
Our long term goal is for our Colony to have autonomy and the ability to pursue its passions and goals as a group. That’s why we are committed to working with leaders in the Algorand space to develop a fully functioning DAO that is funded by future revenue and NFT launches.

To be transparent, we want to be public about how we intend to allocate funds received. Our financial goals are:
- Allocate enough capital to follow through with our roadmap.
- Provide funds to empower the community.
- Direct funds to carry out our conservation mission.
- Invest in the Algorand ecosystem.
Team: 20%
Business Operations: 50%
Community Fund: 15%
Financial support for sub-community driven initiatives. These funds are directly controlled by sub-communities, not the Team. The community often has amazing ideas to push the project forward. We want to empower those ideas! Our goal in the future is to increase this % as our community progresses towards a fully functioning DAO and takes over various business operations.
Nature Conservation Mission: 10%
More than ever, nature and wildlife conservation will be the core of our mission.
NFT + ASA investment: 5%
While all funds will remain primarily in $ALGO, we also want to invest in NFT projects and ASAs that we support. We believe that 5% is a good way to start, but this position may increase in the future as we learn more about the ecosystem and projects that are worth investing in.
We will increase our funding of the community as it takes more autonomy and progresses towards a DAO. We hope to increase our investment in ASA and Algorand projects.
Taxes
We will use this mint to pay 2022 taxes, not 2021 taxes. In principle, the amount of money we are allocating is specifically for this mint. That’s why we are allocating the % of this mint that is sufficient to pay the taxes associated with this mint.
Commercial Rights
When you buy a Puffin, you own all the commercial rights to that Puffin. Go ahead and make a feature film featuring the adventures of your Puffins, or create a music album with your Puffin. It’s all possible!
IMPORTANT: All rights for Poppin Puffins IP including alPoppin Puffins logos, wordmarks, and branding are held by Poppin Puffins and do not transfer to individual NFTs. So you can make a movie about your Puffin becoming a superhero, but you cannot say “A Poppin Puffins Super Hero Movie” or use our logo in your movie as your own.

Our hope is to work with all the amazing people and projects we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. The more we learn about Algorand, the more we realize its potential, and the more excited we are to dive deeper into the ecosystem. We’ve only scratched the surface so far!
Poppin Puffins’ vision as a project is long term. We will dive into that more in new medium posts, but if you check our announcements, we’ve already said a lot before we came to Alogrand. That mission hasn’t changed. In a nutshell? We want to establish a strong brand of community-backed-characters to publish media like games, children’s books, and film. We will build out our mission of being a community-driven wildlife-conservation project. And finally, we can serve as a marketing tool for Algorand, by building a strong NFT project that can attract and educate more people about Algorand, helping them to become “blockchain-literate” and achieve greater financial freedom. Along the way, we will offer whatever resources we can to support other projects in their success. Let’s grow the pie together.
