Poppin Puffins are moving to Algorand. A New Chapter Begins
First off, we want to thank everyone for being an amazing part of this incredible Colony. It has been an honor leading this project, and it consumed our life for the last 9 months.
We know that many of you, including us, lost everything in the past few days. It’s been devastating. For TheOlifants and I, it was a year of tireless work to reach this stage with so many amazing things on the horizon, all up in flames in a matter of days.
Exhausted and demoralized, the first question we asked ourselves was do we even want to continue?
We didn’t need to think long. We have amazing art, a community of talented individuals, and a roadmap under development. A strong foundation worth building upon.
As a Colony, we were united under the Terra signet. But without that inclusive banner, we may not have the same desires for this project’s direction. We loved our Terra home, and we will miss it dearly. But we were rugged by our fervent faith, and we have to move on. We appreciate and understand if the decisions we make to move the project forward are not desirable for everyone. So if you choose to strike another path, then we salute you with a hearty AUK! and wish you godspeed.

Since the [redacted], we’ve been lost at sea, Puffins and Eels in one dingy, on searching for a new island to make our home.
We only require a cliff and a community that welcomes our wasted bodies to their shores.
One of our search parties finally returned with the name of a new island where our fairies and trolls can get busy rebuilding our beloved cliff casa…
A place called Algorand!
It’s less populated and much younger than our former home, but there is the potential to build a new Colony from the ground up:
The ethos of Algorand aligns with our mission. Their main value proposition is being the Greenest blockchain, even carbon-negative through the use of offsets. Several major projects on Algorand have a conservation focus.
This is a future-proof move from a business perspective, and it is a great point for us to overcome the pushback we’ve received from partners like Audubon and Icelandic orgs.
The Poppin brand’s art is high quality, and on Algorand we will stand out as a premiere project from day one.
When one visits other chains’ infrastructure, you realize how innovative, competitive, and high-caliber the Terraverse was. There’s an opportunity for all LUNAtic refugees to migrate to other chains and spread the knowledge we learned to other communities. We hope that some projects will follow us to Algorand to help build out their NFT infrastructure. There is an opportunity to be a leader in shaping an entire ecosystem.
Finally, Algorand is a bird-friendly platform. There is an entire birder community that will surely get behind us Puffins.
For now, I encourage everyone to learn about Algorand on youtube or visit their website. Install one of their wallets and buy an NFT. We currently do not endorse any particular wallet or marketplace.
In following messages, we will lay out the first details about how this migration will proceed. We will also have an AMA soon to answer questions.
If the #Algofam continues to welcome us like they have so far, then we are confident that this will be a chance for all of us to get back on our Puffeet, sit together to watch many beautiful sunrises from our new cliff, and rebuild our rocket for that great adventure into the stars.
